How investing in One Boy can make a whole village Fly High.

We congratulate Julius Solowa on finishing His Advanced Level of Education with a Division 1.7 in physics, chemistry and biology. His education was enabled through our partnership with Kipaji-foundation, who provided him with a scholarship to complete secondary school and high school. Now, he’s ready to embark on his dreams of entering university to study medicine.

Being the son of two humble farmers in Changalawe village in Mzumbe, Morogoro, it was difficult for his family to provide for his education. Solowa was taking small community-jobs after school hours to pay for school fees, uniforms, books and other expenses. He’s truly experienced how livelihood conditions and circumstances outside a person’s control can become challenges in reaching one’s goals.

Being granted the scholarship from Kipaji in 2019 and receiving continued support in a shared scholarship between Tai and Kipaji for the last two years, he finally got the resources and free time to focus on his studies. Now, he’s ready to pursue his dreams of entering university to study medicine - either in Tanzania or abroad so that he can learn more about how people from different cultures interact -. With his curiosity for both natural sciences and people, we are certain that Solowa will go on to do great things, no matter what he decides to do in the future.

Solowa might be the very first person from his village to obtain their high school diploma. Now, the elderly in his village urge other youth to look to Solowa as a leading example, example, and he’s become a role model for others to follow. He dreams of giving back to his community in the future, so that more youth will have the same opportunities as he did. He’s a living example that education is not only a means for the individual, but an investment which can create positive synergies for communities at large. Now, Solowa encourages the Kipaji-foundation to continue supporting young people’s educations so that more will have the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
