How can Tanzania bring together the people, ideas and resources needed to strengthen innovation and turning promising solutions intro contributions to the county´s development? One answer is Innovation Week Tanzania.
Innovation Week Tanzania is Tanzania´s leading platform for promoting and strengthening innovation across the country. Since 2015 it was established with an aim of bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, researcher, businesses, investors, development partners and young people to showcase ideas, share knowledge, build partnerships and find ways to scale solutions that can contribute to Tanzania´s development.
This year Tai in partnership with Unicef Tanzania participated in the Innovation Week 2026 with the theme “From Aspirations to Transformation: Innovating Tanzania´s Path to Inclusive Prosperity, which highlights areas such as digital transformation, green solutions, youth-led entrepreneurship, new business models and collaboration across different sectors. For this reason, Oky Tanzania was a perfect fit for the theme – because of how this period-tracking app demonstrate how digital technology can contribute to better menstrual health and wellbeing. Something that is essential to archive a inclusive prosperity.
We set a booth during the event, that more than 100 people visited the Oky Tanzania booth to learn more about the application and it's importance to many lives of young girls who seek the right information about the period safety, with many downloading the app, and expressing interest in how it can support menstrual health. The showcase attracted young girls from schools and universities, elders and other people interested in the potential of technology to improve menstrual health and hygiene, especially for young girls.

"I knew we had so many innovations in Tanzania, but with Oky for me it's a game changer, I remember back in the days how i use to suffer with my periods and everyones opinions on the internet frastrated me alot, with Oky all informations feels reliable and accurate. I love it."
